Outrage as Channel 5 name 'Britain's Best Crisp'

It is fair to say that nearly everyone has a favourite crisp, maybe even two.

You may be such a connoisseur that you change your favourite depending on the season, or time of day.

In a bid to find the best of the rest, Channel 5 ran a two-hour show dedicated to the rundown of the top snacks.

But it seems this may prove to be their most controversial programme yet, with outrage at the result.

Britain's Favourite Crisp aired last night (Sunday, March 24) divided the crisps into a pyramid with the best at the top - or the God Tier as they called it.

And in that tier? Doritos, Pringles and Walkers.

And who could have possible come at the bottom of the pack? Salt and Shake, Nik Naks, Squares and Mini Cheddars.

This left people furious and Twitter in meltdown as crisp consumers took to social media to vent their frustration when their favourite was snubbed, the MEN reports.

One said: "I DEMAND JUSTICE FOR SALT AND VINEGAR SQUARES!"

Another added: "Why do we need a two hour show just to say "Pickled Onion Monster Munch"?"

A third couldn't believe the ones that didn't even make the cut in the 120 minute show: "No French Fries. No Discos. No Skips. No Frazzles. No Space Raiders. No integrity. #BritainsFavouriteCrisps"

Other's were left confused and bemused that there was even a two hour TV show dedicated to the topic, particularly when the country if facing political uncertainty.

Referring to Twitter trends which ranks what users are most talking about, Andrew said: "#Britainsfavouritecrisps is trending 3rd in the UK. We genuinely do like in a country full of morons."

Roberta Seaport said: "You think Brexit is a ****show? There's a countdown programmed on called Britain's Favourite Crisps and blood is flowing in the streets from all the fights it is causing."
