Tributes have been paid to the teenager who died after being pulled from the River Gryffe last week.
William McNally, 13, had been in a critical condition in hospital after being pulled from the water by paramedics on Wednesday evening.
But police officers confirmed yesterday that he tragically passed away.
William has since been described as a “character full of life” with “many wonderful quirky traits”.
His loving family has donated his organs to save the lives of other young people across the UK.
One family member said on Facebook: “My heart is so heavy and my body feels so numb, this doesn’t feel real to even write... heaven has gained an absolute diamond this morning.
“One of life’s most kindest people you could ever meet, a massive part of both mine and my son’s life, his ‘best friend’, his buddy boy, the one that taught him how to play bad guys.
“I will miss you so much William.
“Rest in peace.”
A Just Giving Page to support William’s parents has also been launched by a family friend.
It states: “Sadly in the early hours of June 5, 13-year-old William lost his life in a tragic accident.

“His parents made the selfless decision to donate his organs and help save the lifes of many other people.
