'Outpouring of grief' after man, 30s, found dead at house in Waterford city

A garda investigation is underway after a man in his 30s was found dead at a house in Waterford city.

The young man was found in Norwood area of the city, near Cleaboy, shortly after 6pm on Saturday.

Gardai remain at the scene this morning and a post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

At the moment the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating the death of a man, aged in his 30s, that occurred at a house in the Norwood area of Waterford on 30/05/2020.

"The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed for a post mortem. The results of the PM will determine the course of the Garda investigation."

Local Fianna Fail Councillor Eamon Quinlavan said the man was a well-known man and there has been an "outpouring of grief" in the area.
