Outlander star Sam Heughan slams vile bullies after receiving death threats in six-year hell

Scots actor Sam Heughan has spoken out after being targeted by bullies and receiving death threats.

The Outlander star made a lengthy statement on Twitter explaining that he has had enough of the abuse.

The 39-year-old said he has been accused of various things and he said it is affecting his life and his mental state.

He said: "After the past 6 years of contast bullying, harassment, stalking and false narrative I am at a loss, upset, hurt and have to speak out. It's affecting my life, mental state and is a daily concern.

"My co stars, friends, family, myself, in fact anyone I am associated with, has been subjected to personal slurs, shaming, abuse, death threats, stalking, sharing of private information and vile, false narrative."

He said: "Recently, these false claims vary from me manipulating fans, being a closet-homosexual, trying to mislead or exhort fans for money and disregarding Covid advice. I’ve done none of the above.”

"These bullies have created a false narrative, shared private information and abused my loved ones and I, consistently for the last six years on blogs and SM."

Sam said he was so fed up with the situation he felt he had no choice but to speak out. He added: "I’ve never spoken about it because I believe in humanity and have always hoped these bullies would just go away.

"I can’t elaborate for ongoing legal reasons but they are professionals: teachers, psychologists, adults who should know better."

Sam said he has been self-isolating in Hawaii as he was there before a travel ban was put in place

Kirkcudbright born Sam has played Jamie Fraser in the time-travel drama ‘Outlander’ since 2014.
