Outlander heartthrob Sam Heughan mobbed by fans as he leads a charity march in Edinburgh

Outlander star Sam Heughan has led hundreds of people on a charity march in Edinburgh.

The actor - who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit time-travelling TV series- was taking part in an event celebrating the My Peak Challenge movement for the Bloodwise charity on Sunday.

My Peak Challenge was founded by Heughan. Members - known as Peakers - set themselves a challenge, whether physical or otherwise, in order to raise money.

Heughan, who plays Jamie in the hit historical TV series, founded the movement in 2017.

He posted a video on Twitter of the international group marching through Holyrood Park.

He said: "March of the Peakers!! From over 80+ countries #MyPeakChallenge #mpcgala2019."

Bloodwise UK said: "We've had an incredible day in Edinburgh with our Scottish President SamHeughan and our inspirational MyPeakChallenge family From a Peaker march with bagpipes to climbing Arthur's Seat...

"Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this weekend & for supporting us."
