Outlander star's Scotland v Croatia game panic after he buys wrong train ticket for Hampden match

Outlander actor Steven Cree ended up pleading with fans and rail bosses after he bought the wrong train ticket on his way to the Scotland match at Hampden.

Steven, who is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser's friend Ian Murray in Outlander, was thrilled to have bagged a ticket for the Scotland v Croatia Euro 2020 game tonight.

He'd arranged to get the train from England - where he now lives - to Scotland so that he could watch the match, but at the eleventh hour realised there was something wrong with his purchase.

He explained: "Got tickets for the Scotland game! Yes!! Booked my train ticket to Scotland tomorrow and accidentally booked a senior railcard ticket! F***. @thetrainline

"I am 1,000,000th in the queue to get through to you & change the ticket please help. It’s an emergency! #yessir."

Luckily The Trainline managed to help him change it despite the queues and he thanked them and then wrote a poem in gratitude, wishing Scotland the best of luck.

Steven wrote: "Thankyou @thetrainline for helping me amend my stupidity so quickly. No Billy Gilmour but we can still do this!! #yessir."

He later showed off some Irn Bru pants and his kilt and wrote: "T’was the night before Christmas, time to lay on the quilt,All the football attire, inlcuding the kilt. 3 points for Glory against mighty Croatia,Would send all of Scotland into Fantasia!."

Reaching Glasgow today he reported: 'Sun shining in Glasgow. Kilts and Scotland tops everywhere. What a glorious day to make history!!! Come on Scotland!!! "
