Outlander star Caitriona Balfe admits surprising celebrity crush is John Goodman

Outlander's Caitriona Balfe opened up about meeting her surprising celebrity crush during a game of 'Never Have I Ever'.

Caitriona, 42, played alongside her Belfast co-star Jamie Dornan with British Vogue and even he was surprised when she announced her celebrity crush as John Goodman.

The Irish actress is best known for playing Claire Fraser on the hit Starz show, alongside Sam Heughan as her on-screen husband Jamie Fraser.

Caitriona and Jamie are currently doing promotional work for their new flick Belfast, focussing on family life during the Irish troubles.

During Never Have I Ever, the duo were asked if they had ever met their celebrity crush.

Caitriona: "I met John Goodman."

Before Jamie interrupts laughing: "Not what I was expecting or anyone was expecting."

She replies: "I was young, but there's just something very endearing and lovely about him."

Jamie admits: "I had a black and white picture of Liv Tyler by my bed and I used to kiss it every night before I went to bed.

"And then I was in New York and I met her.

"My friend knew this story and said, "Jamie, you tell Liv about that time" and I had to tell Liv Tyler, to her face, that I used to kiss a black and white picture of her every night.

"She was so lovely about it, but it was mortifying."

Caitriona's celebrity crush is American actor John Goodman, 69, best known for his role as Dan Conner in ABC's Roxanne.

Fans absolutely loved this video and took to Twitter to say as much.

One wrote: "Ok, but John Goodman needs to see this"

"These two and the things we learn about them. I like to know if they really kept the paddles and had a game of table tennis," said another.

A third quipped: "Thanks for sharing!!! Love the questions and their honesty!!! Some interesting semi embarrassing moments and the other person’s reaction to them!!!"

"So enjoyable and delightful. Wish it had lasted longer," said someone else.

Another gushed: "I love her."

A sixth penned: "This is the cutest most delightful thing to wake up to. Thank you; these two are so brilliant!! So is #BelfastMovie "

Outlander fans are buzzing at the moment as the sixth instalment of the Starz drama is a mere weeks away, as the show premieres on March 6, 2022.
