"Sing me a song of a lass that is gone, Say, could that lass be I?"
The next season of Outlander may be a way off yet, but we can't wait to see what the period fantasy drama based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon has in store.
The fourth season saw Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) create a new life for themselves in North Carolina after an epic journey to be reunited.
Now they can start a new life with their daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) too as she and her beloved Roger (Richard Rankin) join them at Fraser's Ridge.
But war is brewing and Jamie has a nasty task ahead.

Outlander season 5 plot

The fifth season will pick up after the fourth and will likely run for 13 episodes as the preceding 3 seasons did.
The episodes will adapt the fifth book in the series of novels by Diana Gabaldon, The Fiery Cross .
As the preceding season concluded with Jamie Fraser and his wife Claire helping Brianna and Roger settle into life on Fraser's Ridge, we pick up with the pair about to make their nuptials official and baptise their son Jeremiah.

With the American Revolution only a few years away and unrest brewing, Jamie is called to form a militia to put down the beginnings of rebellion in North Carolina and risk his life for a king he knows he must betray soon to survive.
Civil war is fast approaching so it is sure to be an epic run of episodes - will the Fraser clan survive it?
Additionally, have they really seen the last of evil Stephen Bonnet?
Outlander season 5 does not currently have a premiere date.
