Outlander's Sam Heughan reveals single 40th birthday wish - but he's left to celebrate in lockdown

As he celebrates his 40th birthday today, Outlander star Sam Heughan will be gutted that Clyde 1's George Bowie can't perform at his party due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sam was due to be back in Scotland for the filming of the sixth series of the Starz hit show, but due to the global outbreak, he is staying put in Hawaii where he had been holidaying.

The 40-year-old actor had previously said the only thing he wanted for his big birthday celebration was a performance from the GBX himself.

Whilst appearing on James Cordon's Late Late Show last month Sam, who plays hunk Jamie Fraser, revealed that he didn't have many plans for his big day but only had one request.

Sam said: "Obviously I'll be back in Scotland because I'm shooting Outlander.

"There is a DJ in Scotland that I'm obsessed with called George Bowie and he plays basically really bad dance music and no one's ever heard of him but I would love to book him."

Sam then joked that he'd love it if James and the team had tracked George down, and sadly, though they joked he was hiding behind the curtains on stage, he wasn't.

Outlander continues every Monday on Amazon Prime.
