Sam Heughan has shared some of the pet names he calls Men In Kilts co-star Graham McTavish in a loving tribute to his on his birthday.

Sam, who has been working on a new series of the travel adventure show with his bestie, couldn't resist sharing some photos of the two together from his personal album.

He also wrote to Graham, who has just turned 61,: " Happy birthday to the big man!"

"My partner in crime, latte loving, map reading, snack pilfering, delightfully ridiculous, co writer, co producer and all round top (grey) dog! @grahammctavish."

Sam added: "We celebrate soon buddy!x "

Graham has had previous roles as Dwalin in The Hobbit film trilogy, Dracula in the Netflix's animated series Castlevania, and The Saint of Killers in the AMC series Preacher.

He is of course also Dougal Mackenzie in the Starz series Outlander.

Amongst those to join Sam in his special message to Graham was fellow Scots actor Tony Curran who wrote: "Happy birthday you beautiful hairy young Caledonian that you are!"

Another fan wrote: "What I would do to spend a day with these two! Would be full of awe and laughter."

And a third wrote: "Aw here's my two favourite actors. Brilliant and funny."
