Outlander's Sam Heughan has joked he faced new 'acting' challenges while recording sex scenes, but the show's composer came up with the perfect solution.
Sam revealed to fans that he had just finished shooting the ADR -automated dialogue replacement- part of the filming process for Season 6.
ADR refers to the process of re-recording dialogue by the original actor (or a replacement actor) after the filming process to improve audio quality or make changes to the originally scripted dialogue.
Sam, showed off part of his script with the instructions on it for his role as heartthrob Jamie Fraser.
The script said on it that Sam was to provide sound for ' lovemaking moans groans and breaths'
And the star admitted: "ADR FINISHED! Season 6!@Outlander_STARZ Some new “acting challenges” this season…"
Following his revelation, Outlander composer Bear McCreary, who provides the soundtracking to the show, told Sam: "Don’t worry, we’re slathering bagpipes over all that scene anyway!"
And Sam relied: "Probably wise…"
The hilarious exchange thrilled fans, who can't wait for the Droughtlander to be over .
One said: "I have noticed you making similar sounds Sam whether you are fighting your foe or making love to Claire. Having watched Outlander a few times one gets attuned to these nuances. Love your music Bear."
Another added: "Love love LOVE your score, Bear. What you add to the production is immeasurable. Thanks so much."
Some others who were a bit naughty suggested Bear exchange the bagpipes for some other instruments.
One joked: "Oh come now, Bear, at least make it swelling violins."
Another laughed: "I hope those bagpipes will rise to the occasion."
