Outlander's Sam Heughan asks George Bowie for GBX anthem for new movie with Celine Dion

Outlander's Sam Heughan has asked Scots DJ George Bowie for his Celine Dion mega mix to feature in his new movie.

The actor, who is starring alongside Celine in blockbuster Text For You, has made no secret of his love for George Bowie and his GBX tunes.

Now he's desperate to get the classic 'I'm Alive' GBX tune to feature on the big screen alongside the Canadian singer herself.

Sam took to Twitter to put it to the Radio Clyde DJ to get his remix in the film.

He said: "Must get your @celinedion mix in the movie @GBXANTHEMS! (T shirt on it’s way @CasCasG )"

And George replied: "Absolutely mate!"

Sam is appearing alongside Celine Dion and Priyanka Chopra-Jonas in the romantic drama by Sony.

George Bowie, is known for putting a spin on classic tunes and turning them into anthems.

His mega mixes of tunes from the likes of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion are favourite party pieces and guaranteed to get a crowd going, so it's no wonder Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser in Outlander, wants it to feature in his new film.

Last year, Sam appeared on James Cordon's Late Late Show, where he revealed that he wanted George to play at his 40th.

After James asked him his plans, Sam said: "Obviously I'll be back in Scotland because I'm shooting Outlander.

"There is a DJ in Scotland that I'm obsessed with called George Bowie and he plays basically really bad dance music and no one's ever heard of him but I would love to book him."

Sam, 40, will play the lead opposite  Chopra-Jonas  in the movie, which also features the singing and acting talents of megastar Celine.

Text for You is based on a hit 2016 German film, SMS Fur Dich, itself based on Sofie Cramer’s novel of the same name.

It is the tale of a woman who loses her fiancé and, in an attempt to deal with her pain, sends romantic texts to his old mobile phone.

But the number has been reassigned and the recipient of the texts is a man who’s also going through heartbreak.

We can't wait to see if Georgie boy's remix makes the cut!
