Outlander filming in Paisley this weekend

A street in Paisley will be temporarily closed off on Sunday morning as the Outlander cast descend on the town to shoot scenes for the popular television show.

Punters could well spot filming crews and celebrities working their magic in the area, after it was revealed High Street/Wellmeadow Street will be closed from Storie Street to Walker Street.

The road closure will not disrupt Buddies for too long, however, as it will only take place from 5am until 11am.

The alternative route has been identified as Wellmeadow Street, Broomlands Street, Maxwellton Street, George Street, Canal Street, Causeyside Street, New Street or vice versa.

Emergency access will be maintained during the closure.

Producers of the binge worthy show – which is a historical drama revolving around time travel – are currently working on its fifth season.

Having already crafted scenes across Scotland at Glencoe, Inverness, Kinloch Rannoch, Culross, Doune Castle and Glasgow, the cast will now venture to Paisley.

Eagle eyed fans should keep an eye out for the stars of the show, which includes Irish actress Catriona Balfe and dreamy Scot Sam Heughan as protagonists.

The show has been running for five years and has a loyal following.
