Outlander fans in stitches at note left next to books in Waterstones

Outlander fans were left in stitches after a staff recommendation note in a Waterstones book store went viral.

The note, stuck to a shelf under a pile of Outlander books, was shared on Twitter by fan Alison Hession.

The recommendation, which normally features info on the book and why you should buy it, simply read: "Read this, and let Jamie Fraser ruin all other men for you."

Speaking about the note, which she spotted in her local Waterstones, Alison said: "This made me smile in my local Waterstones as I knew it was clearly written by a kindred spirit who loves Outlander as much as me."

The post has gone viral on Twitter, after fans flocked to agree with the mysterious staff member who penned the note.

One fan said: "Truer words have never been written."

Another added: "So true..... and as a single woman, it makes dating slightly difficult #thebarishigh"

A third wrote: "Ain't that the truth!"

Outlander author Diana Gabaldon is currently writing the ninth novel in the series, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, and has posted excerpts from the book, which is due out soon on her writing blog.

She also confirmed she's also in the process of writing a prequel book about the adventure's of Jamie's parents Ellen and Brian Fraser but didn't confirm a release date.

Fans might not have to wait that long for their next fix of Outlander reading though as show stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish confirmed that their book Clanlands is due out this November.
