Outgoing Celtic star latest celeb to visit popular Edinburgh drinking hotspot

Outgoing Celtic captain Scott Brown dropped into an Edinburgh bar after playing his final game in a trophy-laden spell for the club.

The 35-year-old spent 14 seasons at Parkhead, winning 22 domestic honours in that time after joining from Hibernian in 2007.

He was unable to sign off with a win at the home of his former club as Jack Ross’ Hampden-bound side held the Glasgow club to a goalless draw in the final game of the season.

Brown will join Aberdeen in the summer as player/coach alongside his former Hibs teammate Stephen Glass after he replaced Derek McInnes earlier this year.

He was presented with a gift by Hibs captain David Gray before kick off on Saturday and stuck around in Edinburgh for a post-match celebration at the Rose St Garden.

The bar has become a celebrity haunt since lockdown was lifted, with Line of Duty star Martin Compston among recent visitors.

And Brown was also welcomed by a post on the bar’s Instagram account.

The midfielder spent five years at Easter Road after coming through the youth system in Leith, later lifting the League Cup in 2007.

He left at the end of that campaign, moving on to the Parkhead club to make 620 appearances including several hundred as captain.

He won ten Scottish Premiership titles in that time alongside six more League Cups and six Scottish Cups.

Actor Compston celebrated his birthday bash at the outdoor drinking den last week.
