Outdoor clothing store Regatta in Bristol city centre to close down

A store in Bristol city centre belonging to a well-known brand which specialises in outdoor clothing and leisurewear is closing down.

Regatta is a family-owned company which has grown to become one of the most popular suppliers of outerwear and equipment since launching in 1981.

The Broadmead shop, located in between two vacant shops, stocks a wide range of products designed for use in challenging conditions and is therefore popular with people embarking on outdoor excursions such as mountaineering, camping or music festivals.

But later this year the store will close permanently, meaning there will be three empty units neighbouring each other in Broadmead.

A member of staff said the shop is likely to close at the end of October or early November.

Bristol Live has contacted Regatta's press office to ask why the store is closing and is awaiting a response.

On Google the shop has a rating of 4.3 / 5 from 26 reviews, with many people praising both the quality of products it stocks and the 'fantastic prices'.

The most recent review from an impressed shopper says: "Cheap & cheerful. Don't shop here if you're attempting to summit K2, but if you need a coat for a festival or a daysack for your commute, you can't go wrong."

To find your nearest Regatta store following the closure, visit Regatta's website.
