"Out with the mum guilt! YOU are enough!" Catherine Tyldesley's candid words on motherhood

Catherine Tyldesley has shared some candid words on motherhood as she takes a break on holiday.

The former Coronation Street star, 35, urged other women to ditch 'the mum guilt' and always remember who they are.

The actress, who played Eva Price in the soap until she left the Cobbles last year, has spoken frankly about her own struggles with motherhood in a candid post on her Instagram profile.

She wrote: "MUM GUILT??? BREATHE.., breathe... that’s all I needed to do. Just for three days. I love being a mummy. I love my job. I love socialising... but every so often I need to take a step back. We need to take a step back. "

Tyldesley is currently on holiday in Spain with husband, Tom Pitfield, while their son Alfie is looked after by family.

The actress said the break allowed the couple to just be 'Tom and Cath' and remember 'how perfect [they] are for each other'.

She added: " I carry guilt with me all the time, it’s a problem I’ve always had (possibly because I was raised a Catholic)
"But sometimes we need to give everything up and realise we are doing our very best and each moment of precious time to ourselves is deserved.

"We are enough. The more parents I speak to the more I can see that many of us feel this way. It’s not healthy.

"Sometimes we need to remember not only who we are but who we were.

"Today Im filled with love and gratitude for the beautiful holiday we’re having, for my calm in my soul, for the priceless memories and for the excitement in my heart to hold my son tomorrow. Out with the mum guilt!!!! YOU are enough!!!!"

The Corrie star is rumoured to be in talks with the BBC's flagship show Strictly Come Dancing ahead of the new series in September.

She won’t be the first Corrie star to set foot on the famous dancefloor - she will follow in the footsteps of Georgia May Foote and Tina O'Brien.
