'Out of character' for Glasgow teen to go missing as cops launch search

A missing teen has sparked a huge police search in Glasgow.

Aidan Renfrew was last seen at around 1pm in Cambuskenneth Place in the Craigend area on January 25.

His disappearance was reported on January 28.

Officers are concerned for the 17-year-old's welfare as, while he is known to be independent, it is out of character for him to go missing.

Aidan is white, around five feet, ten or 11 inches tall with a very slim build.

He has short, dark brown hair and no eyebrows as he recently shaved them off.

He's been described as unkempt in his appearance.

Police trying to trace Aidan have so far been unsuccessful.

Officers are scouring CCTV footage and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to get in touch.

Sergeant David Leslie said: “Aidan is an independent, young man, however, it’s out of character for him not to be in touch with his friends and family and our concern for him is growing.

"I am appealing to anyone who has may have seen Aidan or who has any information as to his whereabouts to contact us.

"If anyone has any information which may assist in tracing Aiden could they call 101 quoting incident number 1738 of the January, 28."
