Out of Blue: Exclusive trailer for new Carol Morley film starring Golden Globes winner Patricia Clarkson

We’re happy to exclusively launch the trailer for Picturehouse Entertainment’s Out of Blue, the new mystery drama from acclaimed British director Carol Morley.

The New Orleans-set noir is an adaptation of Martin Amis’s novel Night Train, and stars Patricia Clarkson as Mike Hoolihan, a female police officer tackling a homicide case so disturbing it brings her to the edge of a breakdown.

Its synopsis reads: As [her] investigation deepens, a darker world is slowly revealed and she must use all her skills and experience to piece together fragments of a wider conspiracy that lies behind the murder.”

Early reviews have pitched Out of Blue, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festial (TIFF) in 2018, as a neo-noir that has shades of David Lynch and Nicolas Roeg (Walkabout).

Luc Roeg (We Need To Talk About Kevin) produces the film alongside Cairo Cannon and Maggie Monteith. Morley’s previous films include Dreams of a Life (2011) and The Falling (2014), which starred Lady Macbeth breakout Florence Pugh – most rceently seen in BBC drama The Little Drummer Girl – and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams.

Clarkson recently won Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie for her role in HBO’s Sharp Objects opposite Amy Adams. She also appeared in the final few seasons of Netflix drama House of Cards.

Out of Blue will open in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 29 March. You can find more details here.
