Ousmane Dembele suffers fresh injury blow before Liverpool vs Barcelona Champions League clash

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele looks set to miss his side’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday after limping off early on against Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday.

The Frenchman, who came on as a late substitute and missed a glorious chance in Barca’s 3-0 win over the Reds at Camp Nou on Wednesday night, went down in pain inside five minutes and was replaced by youngster Alex Collado moments later.

The 21-year-old’s leg was then strapped by medical staff on the Barca bench and it looks like a hamstring problem.

If confirmed, that will be his third such injury of the season and makes the former Borussia Dortmund player a huge doubt for the trip to Anfield on Tuesday.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have injury worries of their own as striker Roberto Firmino is set to miss the game against Barca through injury.

Barca, having clinched the title at home to Levante last weekend, gave eight players the weekend off ahead of the Liverpool match, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, Ivan Rakitic, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Marc-Andre ter Stegen all left out of the squad altogether for the trip to Balaidos.
