Ousmane Dembele one of three forward 'targets' for Manchester United and more transfer rumours

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is reportedly among three forward 'targets' that Manchester United are tracking ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been caught short of options in attacking areas this season which has resulted in United not scoring more than one goal in a game since the opening day victory against Chelsea.

Anthony Martial has been out of action since August and the duo of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have both suffered injuries or illness at various points.

It doesn't help that United were already light on numbers in attack following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez for Serie A side Inter in the summer.

According to the  Transfer Window podcast, Dembele as well as RB Leipzig's Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele of Lyon are 'targets' for United in the winter window.

However, it's unlikely that any of these options would come cheaply, even if their clubs did want to sell.

Meanwhile, United are being linked with Moussa Dembele in another publication, along with more speculation concerning Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

The Daily Star says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the duo would be capable of arresting United’s slump and boosting their top-four hopes and that he's planning a £90million double raid for the pair.

Finally, Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly taking English lessons, as he eyes a job in the Premier League - and predictably he’s been linked with the Manchester United job.

Reports come from a number of places, but  the Guardian report that Allegri is ‘keen’ on the prospect of managing United at some point.

He’s been out of work since leaving Juve in the summer but is seemingly readying himself for his next move - despite being contractually tied to the Italian champions until 2020.
