Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen confirms family are moving to a new home

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has confirmed that the family is set to relocate to a new farm in hopes of putting down some permanent roots.

The 46-year-old shepherdess, who currently rents Ravenseat with her husband Clive and nine children, explained that they are planning to move to another farmhouse just a mile away from where they currently live.

Speaking to The Home Page, the Huddersfield native explained that she felt 'temporary' when it came to renting a farmhouse with so much history.

"You feel very temporary like we're just part of the bigger story before it's passed on to someone else," she explained.

She added: "Each of the buildings on the farm are named after people who are long gone, but whose memory lives on and it's important to keep the heritage of the place going."

Amanda also added that there was a certain magic that she felt about living in such a remote place.

"A house is a house," she told the publication. "But living somewhere wild, like here, really shapes your character. You are facing a battle against the elements here which makes you more independent, and it gives you the freedom to be yourself.”

Amanda, Clive and their children have now set their sights on relocating to Anty Johns, in Upper Swaledale.

It is there that the Owens have purchased a derelict cottage that they hope to restore to its former farming glory.

Speaking previously about the big decision, Amanda explained: "When the opportunity came up and I saw that ‘for sale’ sign go up, it was like a no brainer. The opportunity to get that doesn’t come up that often.

“I needed to buy it because it’s security, for us and for the children.”

While they will remain at Raveseat for the time being while they refurbish their new property, the family were certain that it was the right decision to finally purchase a farm of their own.

News of the family's eventual departure from Ravenseat came shortly after Amanda was showered with praise after working alongside Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson.

Speaking to The Express, Jules branded the farming television star a 'force of nature' that has a 'passion for life'.

Jules told the publication: "I've worked with Amanda many times and she is a force of nature.

"She is the most astonishing individual and the family are an astonishing family."
