Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen defended by fans after she's trolled over adverts

Amanda Owen has delighted fans and viewers by sharing snippets of her family life online since she rose to fame as the star of Our Yorkshire Farm on Channel 5.

However, many were divided when the mum-of-nine decided to capitalise on her online following of over 371,000 people on Instagram and start posting adverts.

After recently teaming up with supermarket giant Morrisons, many slammed the 46-year-old for "selling out" and expressed their "disappointment" at seeing the farming star go "down the advertising route".

In contrast, many of the star's loyal followers have supported and defended her decision in the comments of her latest promotional post.

Shared on Monday, the Shepherdess can be seen preparing a "full joint of lamb" in her Yorkshire home as she continues to work with "British farming’s biggest champions" Morrisons.

"Over the last few weeks we’ve been exploring all the ways in which you can fully utilise a full joint of lamb, leaving no wastage whatsoever," she begins in her caption of the snaps of herself and her child preparing a delicious lamb tagine.

She goes on to detail how she created the dish using leftover bone from her Morrisons lamb joint to create a stock before adding other ingredients such as Moroccan seasoning and cranberries.

" Morrisons is one of British farming’s biggest champions and its customers have raised £20m to support our farms so far," she continues, singing the praises of her latest collaborator.

"This British lamb is a favourite with the children and as they love helping out in the kitchen, they were excited to get involved with making this week’s dish and learn why lamb is such a healthy choice."

Fans were quick to show love and support on Amanda's latest advert (yorkshireshepherdess/Instagram)

One fan was quick to defend the star's advert, commenting: "Love Amanda and Clive and all the kids, why do we have to have ignorant people who are do rude? If you don't like their posts then don't follow - dead easy. No need to be rude."

Another loyal supporter simply wrote "yummy", while a third pointed out: "If Morrison’s were paying me, I’d happily show them my cooking skills. A girl’s got to earn a living. If you don’t like it, don’t follow her. I think she’s inspirational."

"Ouch, let’s stop with the negativity," one Instagram used pleaded with fellow fans.

"Times change, things move on. The Pandemic has caused suffering for all. Be kind."

Earlier this year, Amanda hit back at critics of her advertising work, explaining to fans that her promotional posts help keep her eldest daughter Raven financially stable while studying at University.

Speaking in June, the Channel 5 star told fans: "Right well it’s time to set the record straight.

"I encourage the children to follow whatever paths they choose in life, to be ambitious & that they should themselves strive to achieve their own personal goals.

"Raven is studying at Biomedical science at university, she works part time in supermarket and does voluntary work in the hospital.

"She does the advertising work, she gets paid.

"Education and indeed life doesn’t come cheap and therefore if a paid advertising opportunity arises and the product is genuinely good then why should you not."
