Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen tells Lorraine how farm was 'plunged into darkness' due to Storm Arwen

Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen tells Lorraine how their family farm was 'plunged into darkness' following Storm Arwen.

The 47-year-old shepherdess joined ITV's Lorraine on Monday morning to talk about her appearance on the new series of Channel 5's Winter on the Farm, where she'll be talking about wild water swimming.

But she also revealed how the family recently experienced "sub-zero temperatures" on the farm due to the impact of Storm Arwen at the end of last month.

Amanda along with husband, and fellow shepherd, Clive and their nine children, have been filmed for the Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm since 2018.

"The weather has played such a big part this last week," Amanda said: "What with the storm we have had no electricity, no water."

"How did you get on with that storm? Are you ok?" Lorraine chipped in.

"Well we are ok, because we're all here," Amanda replied: "but yes it had it's high points and it's low points. I think low point was when tea was actually fried eggs and champagne.

"So yeah being plunged into darkness and all the rest of it and being in sub-zero temperatures."

"But somehow you always get by!" Lorraine added.

"Of course." the shepherdess replied.

Winter on the Farm Live starts tonight (December 6) on Channel 5 from 8pm.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV from 9am.
