Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen lashes out at troll and defends pal Jeremy Clarkson

Amanda Owen has slammed a social media critic for trolling her because she’s “not a showbiz star”.

And the Our Yorkshire Farm star also lauded presenter Jeremy Clarkson for fighting farmer’s corners, demanding they should be shown “more respect”.

Amanda, 46, has become a firm favourite with viewers on the popular Channel 5 show.

But one critic was quickly forced into an apology having attacked the mum-of-nine for allegedly being too big for her boots since finding TV fame.

The critic in question blasted: "Stay true to yourself people fell in love with your life as you all are, not as a showbiz star."

But an unhappy Amanda rose to the bait and forced the person to apologise for their ill-informed remarks.

Amanda had tweeted to her 171,000 fans: "Time for a catch up, it has been a super busy time.

“Been wearing more than a few different hats metaphorically speaking.

She added the accompanying hashtags "#shepherdess #yorkshire #alltrades #multitask #justdoit” to a photo of herself working on the farm and at a book signing.

And Amanda quickly hit back at her critic with another tweet which read: "Shearing Sheep driving tractor to make hay to feed Sheep, signing books (about Sheep), public speaking (about Sheep).

“Serving tea to folk who watch programme & read (about Sheep).

"As @JeremyClarkson has highlighted until food production, countryside management is valued we do what pays the bills."

Her critic swiftly apologised and admitted: "Sorry, I didn't think."

Amanda’s strong response comes on the back of TV star Jeremy’s impassioned plea for farmers to be given the credit they deserve.

The Grand Tour presenter and former Top Gear star currently hosts his own show, Clarkson’s Farm, on Amazon Prime.

And he has addressed the difficulties and financial worries of running a successful farm on the his show.

Opening up on his thoughts towards Amanda and her husband Clive Owen, 66, who run and live on Ravenseat farm with their nine children, Jeremy said: “We should have more respect for them than we do.

"It’s really hard work sheep farming and there up in Keld, Ravenseat, in the Yorkshire Dales and it’s really hard work."

Amazon Prime have decided not to commission a second series of Jeremy’s show, but the seasoned broadcaster is hoping another channel will take the show.

And he has admitted that it’s been tough to make his farm work, especially financially.

“Just seeing if I can make this farm work because last year whenever there was a financial disaster, I’d go and host Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” admitted Jeremy.

“But not every farmer can do that. I still can’t understand why my lambs cost more than lambs from New Zealand.

“I don’t understand that. I want to get to the bottom of that and I don’t understand how can supermarkets, if we grow it, mill it and sell it, how can supermarkets be cheaper than that?”
