Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda says husband Clive 'hates' social media as fans spot absence

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has explained why her husband Clive is always missing from her social media posts.

Amanda is a regular on both Twitter and Instagram and often shares pictures of her nine children as well animals on the farm and the beautiful coutnryside.

However, her husband Clive is rarely ever seen in any of her posts.

He also doesn't have his own accounts so fans are unable to follow him online.

Amanda has now addressed the issue and admitted Clive "hates" social media and has decided not to appear in any of her updates.

She made the revelation on Twitter after sharing pictures of herself getting a hair cut.

One of her followers asked why they rarely ever see any pictures of Clive, tweeting: "How come we never see photos of Clive, time for him to have a make over as well, he bloody earns it."

Amanda then replied: "He hates social media & the online news stuff and doesn’t want to be on it. That’s his choice."

The couple have been married for 21 years after first meeting back in 1996.

She was just 21 and Clive was 42 and Amanda previously admitted it wasn't love at first sight.

Speaking on The Poet Laureate Has Gone To His Shed podcast, she explained they started off as friends and it was a "slow burn".

She explained: "It was a friendship we built, I was there to pick up a tup because I was away milking cows over in Cumbria and I had come to borrow one.

“So I went to Ravenseat borrowed a tup and then headed off again.

“We just exchanged phone numbers and that was the beginning of the friendship.

“The friendship went on for four years. So yeah it was a slow burn thing."

They married in 2000 and went on to have a large family of nine kids, while also looking after 1,000 sheep, 40 cows, six dogs and four ponies.

Amanda and Clive didn't plan to have such a large family, but they are now thrilled to be parents to Anna, Violet, Edith, Raven, Clemmy, Nancy, Reuben, Miles and Sidney.
