Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen beats the heat as she wears bikini to herd cows

Never work with animals or children or so the saying goes - but the Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen does both seemingly effortlessly while still managing to looking glamourous.

Mum-of-nine Amanda shared a video of her busy at work in the sweltering heat on Sunday morning amid the rolling hills backdrop of their much loved remote farm Ravenseat, North Yorkshire.

The star of Channel 5's Our Yorkshire Farm appeared on her Instagram Story dressed for the sunshine in a blue polka dot halter neck bikini top which she paired with her trademark hoop earrings.

The farming favourite could then be heard shouting 'C'mon, C'mon' to her active animals behind her whilst shaking a bright yellow food bag.

She then explained to followers: "We are moving the cows this morning and putting them into some remote pastures, away from where people walk, so they can have peace and quiet."

Her natural beauty didn't go unnoticed to her huge following of fans as one of them posted: "You’re the most glamorous shepherdesses!"

Another added: "I love how glam you look!" and a third wrote: "Bikini farming it's the best."

Amanda also shared video of herself and her four daughters cooling off in one of the farms many open waters - perhaps explaining her unique choice of clothing to herd cows.

She captioned the Instagram post: "Streaming services. #yorkshire #swim #wildswim #outdoors #countryside #nature #water #beck."

Huddersfield-born Amanda, now 46, left city life behind to pursue her farming dream and met future husband Clive at a chance encounter at Ravenseat on a wet and blustery evening back in the mid 1990s.

She was taken on by Clive as a contract Shepherdess and despite being 21 years her senior, the pair developed a loving bond and they went on to welcome nine children into their incredible country life.

While appearing on Steph's Packed Lunch, Amanda addressed claims she "doesn't look like" a farmer who is the mother of nine children.

Presenter Steph McGovern said: "Throughout it all you stay so glamorous. Which, always, I’m amazed about."

Insisting this was not the case, Amanda replied: "Look at my hands though Steph. Honestly, I’ve got iodine up my arm.

"I painted my nails while I was waiting to do this, but I really don’t know why I've bothered."

Amanda revealed she doesn't spend too much time thinking about the assumptions made on her looks and doesn't like stereotypes.
