Editor Laura Webster said: "We have been stunned by the reaction to Friday's front page welcoming the convicted US felon to his golfing trip. Since lots of people in the US are desperate for a copy, but we can't provide them with one due to the overwhelming demand for the newspaper edition, we hope the posters will make up for it."
She went on: "Let's be honest though: Stating straight-forward, truthful facts, shouldn't be so significant that it reaches tens of millions of people around the world.
"The fact that so many people have engaged with this headline reflects very poorly on the state of the media. It suggests a lot of outlets are scared to stand up to wealthy authoritarian interests. The industry needs to do better."
