'Our number one' - Why Brice Samba's Forest form might start Manchester City asking questions

Brice Samba has been fantastic so far this season for Nottingham Forest.

He’s been one of the players who has really impressed me. And even though he didn’t keep a clean-sheet at Wigan Athletic on Sunday, I thought he still had a pretty good game.

He made a couple of really solid saves and if it wasn’t for him, Wigan could have won by more than the one goal.

You can also tell Samba is comfortable with the ball at his feet. He’s always calm and his distribution is pretty spot on. That’s an important quality for a goalkeeper to have.

I like the fact he seems like a bit of a character, too. Goalkeepers often are!

He has made a real difference since he’s come in to the team. A big, big difference. He’s far and away our first-choice keeper now. There’s no disputing that.

In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Manchester City start asking questions about what’s happening with Arijanet Muric in January.

They’ll have wanted him to come to Forest and play games. Apart from in the cup or if Samba picks up an injury, I can’t see that happening now.

Samba is our No.1.

This week, Kenny Burns was talking to Sarah Clapson.
