'Our neighbour screams at us through the walls - he's harassing us daily'

A couple are livid with their neighbour who screams at them through the walls telling them to keep the noise down, even if they are just walking around the apartment.

The neighbour has been known to act like this with other people who live in the same building and harasses people daily about the noise they are making.

The couple have tried to contact the landlord about the situation, but to no avail as the landlord has not done anything, despite them sending evidence to prove the neighbour's harassment.

They took to Reddit to add that they are unsure what to do next.

In the post, the couple, who remained anonymous, explained: "Landlord won’t do anything about our downstairs neighbour who screams at us through the walls.

"Basically he constantly screams at us and our other neighbours within the quadrant. He yells at us through the floors, screaming "settle down!” when we’re just walking around quietly during the day (floors creak).

"He harasses us on a daily basis. I don’t know what to do. We’ve sent the landlord proof of him screaming at us. They aren’t doing anything."

In response, many people have flooded the comments to side with the frustrated couple and offer their advice as to what they could do next to get around the tricky situation.

One person wrote: "When your landlord does not care then your best option will be to move. However, realistically not everyone can move so maybe time to make some friends with the other people he is screaming at and jointly complain to the landlord. If that does not work maybe time to scream back?"

While another stated: "Team up with the other tenants and sue the landlord."

A third penned: "Get it on video and file a report. Keep record of the times and dates as well."

Somebody else added: "Maybe talk to a lawyer, the landlord is probably legally responsible. There are options for cheap consults out there."
