Our Liverpool: much-loved resort doesn't deserve rating

Hello and welcome to this afternoon's Our Liverpool.

Southport has been named among the worst seaside towns in the country by the Telegraph, scoring it a measly 28 out of 100 - which doesn't sit right with me.

For comparison Brighton got 76 out of 100 (but don't forget it is a city in its own right with a Premier League football team) and Margate got 69, but that too is blessed in ways Southport isn't.

These are the words of a shop thief who was captured and jailed after he was discovered by the fingerprints he left on a Lunchables box. Adam Donoghue and Peter Neary "thought they were untouchable" during a spree of burglaries but have now been given years in prison - eight years and six months, and six years and nine months respectively. Arts school 'instutionally racist' amid complaints from black visiting lecturer

An external investigation into a complaint made by a visiting member of staff led to the Liverpool School of Performing Arts (LIPA) being found "institutionally racist," according to papers released following an employment tribunal. The school said "significant improvements" had been made across the organisation since the investigation.

No Liverpool chippies in UK's top 50, say top awards

The Fry Awards did not include any Liverpool chippies in their UK top 50, despite our impressive range of fish and chip shops. What do you think? Are they wrong or is Liverpool just better at other things - I imagine if it was the salt and pepper chips awards things would've been quite different.
