Hello and welcome to the second Our Liverpool of the day.
The death of Paul O'Grady, announced this morning by husband Andre Portasio, shocked the region and since thousands of tributes, from fans, friends and family alike, have poured in.
He's been called "the champion of the underdog" (namely by his friends at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home) and he really was, not just for those animals needing homes, but for the working class, for the homeless, for the LGBTQ+ during the height of AIDS, and he never forgot where he came from.

Suspended leader takes shots at former deputy for 'power grab'
The suspended leader of the Liverpool Community Independents has taken accused their leader of a "power grab" after she was named in the ECHO's parking fine investigation. Cllr Anna Rothery was elected out of a number of former Labour councillors who quit the party last year to form the group.
Woman dies after falling from car park behind Bold Street
Police put cordons in place on Heathfield Street, adjacent to Bold Street, this morning after reports a woman had fallen from Parkbee car park. Paramedics were on scene and took the woman to hospital, where she died.
Mum will 'never get over' brother's tragic death
A mum and nurse of 15 years has spoken about how her brother's death over a decade ago still impacts her today. Collette Gough told the ECHO about how she still carries the compassion and the importance of words she was taught by her brother 11 years after his death in her work, which often involves working people nearing the end of their life.
