Fans of comedy legend Paul O'Grady have called for a statue in his honour. Following the star's sudden death on March 28, calls have been growing for some form of memorial to be displayed in his home town of Birkenhead.
A petition started just a few weeks ago calling for a statue has amassed more than 200,000 signatures, while a GoFundMe page has raised nearly £3,000.

Wirral Council has now offered another update about plans for a statue in the borough.
Man 'terrified' after getting stuck on the Big One in Blackpool
A man has shared footage of the moment he got stuck on the Big One in Blackpool.
Jordan Slater, from St Helens, was on a day out with his friend when they decided to go on the ride for a second time on Sunday, April 23 at around 3pm. The 21-year-old said as they were climbing up to the peak of the ride it "buckled", but it carried on moments later.
Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman dead at 78
Today the sad news broke that Strictly Come Dancing legend Len Goodman has passed away at the age of 78. The much-loved TV star passed away on Saturday, April 22 following a short illness. A host of famous faces have paid tribute to the television star including Claudia Winkleman.
