Our investments provide financial security and support for our journalism. The portfolio includes a wholly owned business, joint venture Top Right Group, our cash balance, an investment fund and other interests.
Top Right Group
Top Right Group is a leading multi-platform events, information services and business-to-business publishing group. Its brands include WGSN, Broadcast, Drapers, Spring Fair, the Cannes Lions festival, Nursing Times and Retail Week. Top Right Group is jointly owned by GMG and Apax Partners.
Cash/investment fund
GMG retains cash in its balance sheet and has an externally managed investment fund which is weighted away from UK and media stocks to diversify risk.
Other interests
GMG is the sole owner of Trafford Park Printers, which prints the Guardian and the Observer.
We own 41.9% of Seven Publishing, which produces consumer magazines such as Sainsbury’s magazine and puzzle titles, and 15% of Decoded, the code and data education and digital transformation company.
