'Our captain!' The Arsenal fans loving what Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said about his future

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has delighted Gunners fans with his comments on his future, amid links with a move away in January.

There has been speculation over the future of the Gabonese striker, with the 30-year-old yet to extend his initial contract with the club.

That has led to reports linking him with a move away, but Aubameyang is adamant that these rumours should be ignored.

And he has used his programme notes for the game against Leeds United to hit out at the speculation, sending a clear message to the Arsenal fans.

"I would like to react to some of the rumours that are going around about in the media," he told Arsenal's official matchday programme.

"People like making up stories and they should focus on what's happening on the pitch. They talk too much and it does my head in!

Unsurprisingly, his comments in the programme has gone down very well with some fans, as can be seen below.

Aubameyang is not involved this evening though, with the Gabonese striker not in the matchday squad for the FA Cup third round tie.

Instead, Mikel Arteta has selected record signing Nicolas Pepe and Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette to start up front against the Championship side.

Aubameyang is Arsenal's top goalscorer this season, with 15 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.
