Player ratings always cause a stir amongst fans.
Many journalists hate doing them, and will sometimes lead to some stick by players, unhappy with a particular rating they have been given.
Yet do they average out into a fair rating over the course of a season?

We have added up every rating a Bristol Rovers player was given by Bristol Live this season, and then divided them by their amount of appearances to find out their average rating for the season.
There are a few talking points in the list.
Alfie Kilgour is given the highest rating of eight - but this was due to the fact he was only given one rating this season, when he made his full debut in a 2-2 draw with Plymouth Argyle.
Jonson Clarke-Harris hands Bristol Rovers a huge boost as he discusses his future
Out of the players with more appearances, Jack Bonham and Jonson Clarke-Harris both rate highly for the Gas.
Goalkeeper Bonham's average is 7.2, whilst Clarke-Harris' is 7.5.
At the other end of the scale, Joe Martin's average of 5.2 is the lowest for the Gas - with Stefan Payne and Stuart both performing poorly too.
