The Chicago science fiction- and fantasy-themed stage company Otherworld Theatre has postponed its annual fundraiser while investigating issues raised on social media.
The Saturday event (listed this week in the Sun-Times’ Mix column) was called “Sorcery & Spectacle: A Season of Transformation and Rebirth.” Related video conference events with celebrities including Harvey Guillen (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and Kristian Nairn (Hodor in “Game of Thrones”) will proceed.
“We recognize and acknowledge the feedback being received and are determined to address all concerns,” the company said on its Facebook page. “We are listening. We want to do the work and plan to be transparent throughout the process.
