OTC predicts Steelers land 3rd-round comp pick for Le’Veon Bell

The Pittsburgh Steelers and running back Le’Veon Bell went through two years of drama and unrest before Bell finally signed a free-agent contract with the New York Jets this offseason. Both sides are better off after the break. Part of what made the move easier to swallow for the Steelers is the promise of a potential compensatory draft pick.

Over the Cap has put out their projections for every NFL team’s compensatory draft picks for 2020 and the good news is they have projected the Steelers to get a pick for Bell. And the even better news is they have the Steelers getting a third-round pick as compensation.

The Steelers pick is one of 10 third-round picks OTC is predicting. Considering the league only gives out 32 compensatory picks every year, 3rd-7th rounds, having nearly one-third of them be in the third round is a high number.

Obviously, nothing is certain at this point. OTC lines out some scenarios which could jeopardize the pick but none of them are likely. The Steelers have moved on at running back but hopefully Pittsburgh can get some good value for the pick, whatever it may be.
