OSU’s Lilli Piper named B1G softball player of the week

The Ohio State softball team is starting to make a move on the Big Ten and a lot of it has to do with what Lilli Piper is doing on the field. Over the last week, the shortstop for the Buckeyes batted .700 with three home runs and five RBIs to help her team win five-straight.

And now, for her efforts, Piper was recognized as the Big Ten’s Softball Player of the Week Monday. It’s her first player of the week award this year, but the fifth of her career in the scarlet and gray.

Piper will go down as one of the best to ever put the cleats on for Ohio State. She’s batted over .400 each the last three years and is on pace to do it again this year. She was just selected in the National Pro Fastpitch Draft last Monday by the Cleveland Comets.

In other words, it has been quite the week for Piper.
