OSU receivers shine at Combine thanks in part to Hartline

The 2019 NFL Combine featured a lot of successful showings from Ohio State Buckeyes all around. But the wide receivers in particular were able to showcase a lot of explosiveness in their athletic testing. Perhaps more importantly? They shined bright as route runners and pass catchers.

Some of the credit deserves to go to a former Miami Dolphin, wide receiver Brian Hartline. Hartline, who last played in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns in 2015, played six years with the Dolphins and logged two consecutive 1,000 yard receiving seasons along the way (2013-2014).

In his time since, Hartline has risen up the coaching ranks in no time at all. Joining the Ohio State Buckeyes’ staff as a graduate assistant back in 2017, Hartline was elevated to wide receivers coach just a year later.

Hartline’s crop of receivers: Terry McLaurin, Parris Campbell and Johnnie Dixon all helped themselves with blazing fast times and figure to be potential top-100 selections in the 2019 NFL Draft next month.

Hartline returns to the Buckeyes in 2019 despite the retirement of Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer.
