The Ospreys have handed talented teenager Harri Morgan his first senior contract.
The 19-year-old made history last season when he became the first player born in the noughties to play for the Ospreys, scoring a try on his senior debut against Pau in the Challenge Cup.
His first start came a fortnight later and he went on to play eight times for the region last term.
Earlier this year, Wales international James Hook said of the Maesteg product: “Mike Phillips and Justin Marshall were big competitors and confident.
“You can probably see a bit of that in Harri as well.”
It was also thought that Morgan was attracting the attention of some big English clubs, having starred against England at age grade level.
But the Liberty Stadium outfit have moved quickly to secure his services.
"I’m very happy to have signed with my home Region and I’m looking forward to pushing on and seeing what I can achieve,” Morgan said.
“It’s about playing as much as I can, whether that’s with Bridgend or the Ospreys, it’s about pushing on and doing the best I can. It’s important I develop my skills as well. With me, as a scrum half, the basics of passing and kicking, I want to develop them and get them nailed on.
“The next few years for me are about developing as a player but, also, as a person, within this environment, becoming a real part of it.”
The scrum-half's attentions will now turn to this year's Junior World Championship in Argentina, where he'll feature for Wales in a pool with the hosts, France and Fiji.
