Osmondthorpe crash update as man, 33, fighting for life in hospital

A 33-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious crash which shut a Leeds street last night (Thurs).

The smash happened in Rookwood Road, Osmondthorpe, at around 8.15pm when a Ford Focus hit several unoccupied vehicles parked at the side of the road.

The driver of the car, a 33-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with injuries which have been described as life threatening.

West Yorkshire Police (WYP) said one man who is thought to have made off from the car was detained before being taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm.

The crash saw a huge emergency services response last night as firefighters, police and paramedics all scrambled to the scene.

WYP is now appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has footage that will assist its investigation, is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via the WYP website.
