Osman Sow set for Hearts opening day Championship reunion if Dundee trial proves successful

Osman Sow could be lining up against Hearts on the opening day of the Championship season with the striker set for a trial at Dundee.

The Swedish hitman helped fire the Jambos to Championship promotion back in 2014/15 after Robbie Neilson snapped him up on a free transfer.

18 months later, he was on his way to China in a £1million deal, despite having just four months left on his deal.

He linked up with Neilson twice more, both at MK Dons and Dundee United, but injuries hampered him and the gangly front man didn’t look like the same pacey forward that had led the line so effectively at Tynecastle.

He was set for a return to the Jambos under Craig Levein, but failed a medical with a deal set to be announced.

But he and Neilson could be going head to head when the Championship campaign kicks off in Gorgie in just over a month’s time.

Dundee boss James MacPake wants to run the rule over Sow, 30, after he was released by their city rivals, reports the Courier.

If he impresses, Sow could be included in the squad that travels to the capital on 17 October as the league favourites take on the side that many expect to be their main challengers for automatic promotion.
