Osian Roberts calls on Crystal Palace home support to help see them through Norwich clash

Crystal Palace assistant manager Osian Roberts says the Eagles will be fully prepared when they take on Norwich City at Selhurst Park despite having just 48 hours to recover from Sunday's defeat at Spurs.

Palace played for over an hour with ten men at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Boxing Day due to Wilfried Zaha's red card and were forced to name a depleted matchday squad thanks to a bout of positive Covid cases in the build-up to the game.

After the full-time whistle Roberts, stepping in on the touchline for manager Patrick Vieira who returned a positive Covid test on Christmas Day, said the Palace players would be back in training on Monday and would be as prepared as they could be for their important clash against the Canaries.

Palace have only lost once at home all season so will be confident of getting a result in south London, especially given that Norwich are bottom of the Premier League with just ten points from their 18 games so far this term.

"It's already been said in the dressing room that we now have 48 hours to recover," Roberts said following Palace's 3-0 defeat to Spurs.

"We've had some really good performances at home. We love playing in front of our home supporters and we'll need them on Tuesday for sure.

"But we know that it's a big game for both teams and we've got to be ready for it. So once the final whistle went we were in the dressing room and immediately into our recovery strategy and making sure that physically we get it right.

"We'll be in [on Monday], beginning our planning and preparation for the match so that we're nice and clear about our approach to a game that we regard as a really big game for us."

Palace's game against Norwich will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video with coverage starting from 2.30 pm. Alternatively, you can follow everything going on at Selhurst Park by following along to football.london's live blog of the match.
