Oscars 2023 winners list: Australian nominees miss out, as Everything Everywhere All at Once sweeps the night

Australia's Cate Blanchett, Catherine Martin, Mandy Walker and Lachlan Pendragon have missed out on Oscars at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

Blanchett was up for best actress for Tár but lost to Everything Everywhere All at Once's Michelle Yeoh, who became the first Asian woman to win the award.

Martin was nominated for three Oscars for her work on her husband Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biopic (Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Picture), but the film lost in those categories.

Walker was nominated for best cinematography for Elvis, while Luhrmann was not nominated for directing.

Queensland film student Pendragon also lost in the animated short film category.

Everything Everywhere All at Once led all other Academy Award nominees with 11 nominations, and claimed seven awards, including best picture.
