Oscars 2023: Naatu Naatu singers Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj say performing at the 95th Academy Awards 'feels like a dream'; manifest 'RRR' sequel

Oscar-nominated track ‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ will be performed by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. They recently spoke about the same at the red carpet of the 95th Academy Awards.

The singers shared, "It's truly unbelievable. It's too good to be true. It feels like a dream. We've been pinching ourselves all the way walking down till here to make sure it's actually happening. This is just amazing."

Oscars 2023 LIVE Updates

Talking about what makes the song so awardworthy, Kaala said, “One of the main reasons is that the song is rooted to its nativity. This is also the most beautiful part of the Oscars as well. People from all over the world come together and represent their culture, and their art for and being appreciated by other communities.” Rahul and Kaala were also accompanied by ‘Naatu Naatu’ choreographer Prem Rakshith.

When asked if RRR will ever have a sequel, Kaala added, “I wish I knew the answer to that but we, along with you, are waiting very eagerly for the same. I hope it happens. Let’s all manifest.

RRR is on the shortlist for Best Original Song for the dance song Naatu Naatu, which won the Golden Globe Award in the same category earlier this year.

After a big Oscar campaign, it was expected that SS Rajamouli’s RRR might find a spot for itself in the the Best Picture or the Best Director category, but the film did not make it to the final nominations.
