Oscars 2011 poll: could Black Swan beat The King's Speech by a long neck?

With just a few days of voting left ahead of Sunday night's Oscar ceremony, Black Swan looks set to upend the odds and romp to an unlikely victory in several major categories. The backstage ballet melodrama currently leads The King's Speech by just a handful of votes in the race for the all-important best picture award. For good measure, Darren Aronofsky and Natalie Portman are the clear frontrunners in the hunt for the best director and actress Oscars.

This, at least, is according to the open, democratic and entirely transparent Oscar polling being conducted by the Guardian. Visitors to the film site are invited to vote across 10 categories. The evidence suggests that they like Black Swan and Colin Firth, Inside Job and Biutiful. The race, however, is not over yet and the numbers may change before the nominees finally arrive at the Kodak theatre. How much they change, of course, is up to you.

Sadly the results of the Guardian's Oscar poll have no bearing whatsoever on the result of the Oscars themselves, which are voted for by around 6,000 Academy members. And this, we feel, is a deep and nagging injustice.

Voting is still open.
