- Irish police confirmed that a man in his 50s died in the collision, with emergency services being alerted shortly before 4.30am.
- Before achieving international fame with Once , Hansard emerged from Dublin’s busking scene and formed his band, The Frames. The actor also starred in hit film The Commitments in 1991.
