Oscar-winning director's new movie to shoot in Glasgow

AN Oscar-winning director is set to shoot his new movie in Scotland next month, it has been confirmed.

Filming for Jack of Spades, by renowned director Joel Coen, will take over Glasgow city centre in just a few weeks' time.

It comes after the city was transformed into New York for the major blockbuster Spiderman: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland.

Details on the film are sparse, with Josh O'Connor being the only confirmed cast member as of yet.

There has been no confirmation around the plot of the movie, with rumours simply suggesting that it would be filming in Scotland this summer.

O'Connor is an English actor who recently took up a starring role in the 2024 film Challengers, also starring Zendaya and Mike Faist.

However, the film's locations team said members of the public may be asked to stop momentarily or to divert around the filming area while a take is in progress.
