Oscar Isaac felt like "a rock star" during his short-lived music career.
The Star Wars actor dabbled in both music and acting in his early years and performed with several ska bands including The Blinking Underdogs and The Worms supporting acts such as Green Day, Limp Bizkit and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - and Isaac admits he had an "incredible time" before he returned to acting.
He told NME: "The Blinking Underdogs ... that was the last ska band that I had. That probably toured the most ... It was like third wave ska ... I was the singer and guitar player in that band ...
[The Worms] that was a little more traditional ska and I was the bass player. [We supported Green Day] we did the Warped Tour ...
"I like to say we [The Worms] opened for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones but really, we played on the fourth stage like six hours before. This was like mid-1990s from like 1995 until ... The Blinking Underdogs went until 2004 ...
"[We played gigs in] Miami, Palm Beach and then a little further north ...
"With The Worms, it was mostly like these huge skinhead guys and then a very skinny, long haired, brown boy that was me playing bass in the background with suspenders.
"It was a real scene and it was so fun. It also gave a lot of the band nerds a chance to be rock stars as well, because [it was] trumpets and horns, everyone was really into that so that was really fun. It was an incredible time."
He added: "At that time, I went away from acting and theatre because I had a falling out with a drama teacher in my high school. I was like: 'F*** it, I’m gonna do music now’ ... And instead of music, I did ska. Third wave, it was the crest of the third wave."
After bringing the curtain down on his ska career, Isaac went back to acting, landing roles in Drive, The Bourne Legacy and Inside Llewyn Davis before being catapulted to a new level of stardom when he was cast as Poe Dameron in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens and its sequels.
Isaac starred in three Star Wars movies and has previously admitted he would reprise the role again if the right project came along.
The actor declared he is proud to have played Poe and be part of the iconic sci-fi series and he would be open to a return to that franchise if there was a film or TV series that appealed to him.
When asked by Variety if he would return as Poe, he answered: "Yeah, I’d be a Star Wars again if there was something good to do with that.”
Daisy Ridely is returning as Jedi Rey for a new movie which is a continuation of the Star Wars timeline which Poe is part of.
Isaac can next be seen in Guillermo del Toro's new Frankenstein film for Netflix, which is based on Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel of the same name.
